Christian Klein serves as the Chief Controlling (CCO) & Operating Officer (COO) of SAP SE. Klein is tasked with ensuring the optimization of SAP’s end-to-end business processes, supported by a highly automated and integrated IT landscape. In his role as SAP chief controlling officer he is also responsible for SAP’s Group Controlling and oversees the company’s 2015–2020 growth and profitability strategy.
Prior to being appointed Chief Controlling Officer, he was asked to lead Corporate Controlling in 2013 responsible for Group Controlling and the Strategic Planning Team. Prior to that he served as Chief Financial Officer of Success Factors (2011-2012), where he was in charge of supervising the finance unit and acted as the chief financial spokesperson for the organization. From 2008 to 2011, Christian was responsible for the areas Products and Innovations (2010-2011) and Services (2008-2010) as Chief Controlling Officer. He previously held controlling roles in Active Global Support and Services from 1999 to 2008.
Christian joined SAP as a student in 1999 and has a degree in international business administration from the University of Cooperative Education in Mannheim, Germany.
